Calvinia Lande abattoir is situated at the foot of the Hantam Mountain just outside Calvinia. Lambs and sheep are bought from farmers surrounding Calvinia and neighbouring towns. All lambs graze on our unique Hantam “bossies” and are known for great tasting meat.
The abattoir is approved as a high throughput facility. Through the use of unique barcodes all carcasses are traceable to the farm the animal was reared on. The abattoir adheres to high standards of hygiene and undergoes a FSA-audit each year to comply with all off the major retailers’ hygiene standards.
